Say what you want about the astronomical expansion of Williamsburg (corresponding influx of hipsters included), there's an undeniably positive reemergence of artisanal, homegrown places to peruse. In God We Trust, named after owner Shana Tabor's own jewelry and clothing line, is the poster-child of this community-driven trend. Outside, lawn chairs offer passersby a comfy place to perch. Inside, there are coins on the creaking wood-plank floor (for good luck), and Tabor's workspace is in the back.

Upfront, however, there's a myriad of treasures, among them owner Tabor's intricate charm jewelry, the most intriguing we've spotted to date. There's also a selection of rock 'n roll-inspired wares by Judi Rosen (owner of The Good, the Bad and the Ugly), hand-printed T-shirts with original artwork by Williamsburg-based M. Carter, old-world, impeccably crafted leather goods by Adam Harvey, and sweatshirts by Ritten House, an independent line out of Australia. Of course, be sure to check out God We Trust's own line: owner Shana's irreverant one-of-a-kind pieces with wild heavy stitching and patchwork designs are irresistable |
